Another is the image of the war-painted, scowling, genetically evolved Caesar peering from the trees, as he appears to signal his ranks to attack.
The sequel to Rupert Wyatt's 2011 film, "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," shows a world ruined by sickness and conflict. The footage shows survivors listening to a speech from Malcolm, a human on Caesar's side.
"We've been through hell together. We spent four years — four years — fighting that virus and another four fighting each other. It was chaos. But you all know what we're up against. And I want you to know, it's not just about power, it's about giving us the hope to rebuild, to reclaim the world that we lost," Malcolm says.
Clarke, Gary Oldman, and Keri Russell star in the film. Andy Serkis (Gollum from "The Lord of the Rings" films) will reprise his role as Caesar. The 2011 film took in $176 million at the box office,
according to Yahoo Movies.
"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" is scheduled to be released July 11, 2014. It joins the Warner Bros. summer blockbusters "Godzilla," "Edge of Tomorrow," and "Jupiter Ascending."
