A Cornell University fraternity has been put on a two-year probation because some of its members were caught participating in a sex competition they called the "pig roast," according to an investigation.

The Zeta Beta Tau game consisted of new fraternity members getting points for having sex with overweight women on campus, according to the New York Post. If the contest resulted in a tie, the person who had sex with the heaviest woman would win.

School officials got "multiple reports" about the contest last year and launched an investigation, which concluded in January 2018, the Post reported.

In addition to the probation, the fraternity will be required to participate in events during Cornell’s Sexual Assault Awareness Week, hire a live-in adviser for the duration of the probation, allow external reviews, and participate in "ongoing education" about sexual violence.

Leaders of the Cornell chapter of the fraternity said they were in "disbelief" over the reports.

“The allegations described are contrary to the values that Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity espouses and works in direct conflict with the beliefs and mission of the Kappa Chapter,” a statement said. “Our chapter has worked closely with the Zeta Beta Tau International Headquarters to draft and execute an action plan that addresses this alleged behavior.”

“Behavior that degrades women contributes to a climate and culture of tolerance for sexual violence,” Ryan Lombardi, Cornell's vice president for student and campus life, said, the Cornell Daily Sun reported.

The fraternity is expected to expel members as it deems necessary during the review process, The Washington Post reported.

Calls were frequent on Twitter to get rid of all fraternities in the wake of numerous similar allegations.
