A clothing donation drop-off box donation led to a Pennsylvania woman's death after she got her arm caught in it.

Judith Permar, 56, went to the drop-off box at 2 a.m. Sunday and stood on a stool to reach inside the box, The Associated Press reported. When the stool broke, Permar's left arm was caught.

Based on results from an autopsy conducted on Monday, the cause of death was trauma and hypothermia. Permar's left arm and wrist were broken.

"She was fishing bags out and the ladder she was standing on gave way and she couldn’t get her hand loose," said Brian Hollenbush, a Mount Carmel Township police chief, Philly.com reported.

According to investigators, Permar was found dead hours later, around 8:30 a.m.

When her body was found, bags of clothes and shoes removed from the drop-off box were laid out on the ground and her black Hummer at the scene was still running, according to Philly.com.

In November, police received a report that a woman driving a black Hummer had been seen at the same drop-off box, removing bags as she was on Sunday.

Permar's son said his mother frequently donated to drop-off clothing bins like this one because she "always wanted to help the less fortunate," WNEP-TV reported.

Permar’s daughter took to Facebook to inform family and friends that her mother had passed away.

"On Sunday morning my Mother passed away,” Angela Minnig wrote in the post. “It was very sudden and our family will learn to cope with the loss of such an amazing Wife, Mother, Sister, and Friend. We will be updating everyone on her viewing and wish all who knew her to visit and pay her respects. She was such a fun loving person and we know it would mean the world to her to say 'See you Again.'"
