Clint Eastwood's next movie will tell the real-life tale of American pilot Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, who made a brave emergency landing on the Hudson River in 2009, saving everyone on board. It's simply called "Miracle on the Hudson."

"I am very glad my story is in the hands of gifted storyteller and filmmaker Clint Eastwood, and veteran producers Allyn Stewart and Frank Marshall," Sullenberger said in a statement this week, according to The Hollywood Reporter

"The project could not have found a better home than Warner Bros. Pictures. This is truly a dream team."

Director Eastwood, 85, will start filming "Miracle on the Hudson" this fall, which is based on Sullenberger's 2010 memoir, "Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters." There is no word yet on who will play the 64-year-old pilot.

The film and entertainment industries are eagerly anticipating Eastwood's follow up to "American Sniper," which debuted earlier this year. The film broke many box-office records, and became the highest-grossing war film of all time — raking in $543 million globally.

"Simply put, Clint Eastwood is at the top of his game, not to mention a global treasure," said Greg Silverman, Warner Bros.' president of creative development and worldwide production.

"On the heels of his extraordinary work in American Sniper, it is tremendously exciting to see him explore the life of another captivating true-life hero," he added.
