Chrissy Teigen has admitted she is still learning to come to terms with the fact that she may never become pregnant again. Recently, the "Cravings" author revealed that she would "never" become pregnant again and, in an interview with People, she opened up about the struggles she faces knowing that.

"Coming to terms with not being able to carry again is still really difficult for me because I feel so healthy. I'm like, why?" Teigen said. "But then I think about it as my uterus is just not cooperating with me — and it's not a failure."

In December, Teigen shared an emotional post on Instagram about the pregnancy loss she suffered in the fall last year. Teigen and husband John Legend, who welcomed Luna, 4, and Miles, 2, via IVF, were expecting a son, Jack, but in September they lost their baby.

"Even though I’m no longer pregnant, every glance in the mirror reminds me of what could have been," she captioned a photo of herself in which she appears to still have a baby bump.

"I love being pregnant, so so much, and I’m sad I never will be again. But I am lucky to have two amazing little ones who are transforming into big little people more and more every single day," she added.

Speaking about her children with People, Teigen said that despite their loss, she felt so "lucky" to have Luna and Miles.

"I just think of it in terms of how blessed I am already, and also there are so many ways to have a child nowadays ... whether it's surrogacy or adoption," she said.

Teigen added that she hoped by sharing her story she could help other women in similar situations.

"For me what's really important is being able to make sure that everybody has access to those ways and making sure that people are able to make their dreams come true. It would just be a beautiful thing," she said. "It's so incredibly expensive to freeze your eggs and to harvest them. IVF isn't an option for a lot of people and it needs to be. It shouldn't be such an expensive endeavor for a woman trying to conceive a child."

In the interview, Teigen also explained that to honor Jack, she and Legend would plant a special tree inside the new house they are building.

"It's important for us in Thai tradition that we always embrace the ones we've lost, and they're never, ever gone. This tree being planted inside the home, the whole reason why I wanted it was so Jack's ashes could be in that soil and he could be with us all the time and grow through the beautiful leaves in this tree," Teigen said, adding that she hoped to help her children foster memories of Jack.

"The way Miles and Luna talk about him is so beautiful and reminds me of when I was little talking to my grandpa who was just sitting bedside next to my mom in a little urn," she said. "It's all beautiful, and I love that tradition carries down."
