Charlie Walk has exited "The Four" singing competition on Fox after sexual harassment claims by a former employee, The Wrap reported.

Walk, president of Republic Records Group, was a judge on the new Fox singing reality show that included fellow judges Sean Combs, DJ Khaled, Meghan Trainor, and host Fergie, according to The Wrap.

Tritan Coopersmith wrote a letter on the Life Lab blog saying Walk made "lewd comments about my body and (shared) fantasies of having sex with me" while she worked with him at Columbia Records about eight years ago.

"After a year of working in fear, I finally called deep on my courage and shared my story with your counterpart," Coopersmith wrote on Monday. "He wasn't surprised. He told me that there was nothing I could do about it, but that he would help me coordinate a graceful exit if I wanted. I was paid to keep my mouth shut and my reputation intact. I'm ashamed of that piece but it's a truthful part of my story."

The Wrap wrote that Walk issued a statement about his departure this week. He will appear on "The Four's" pre-taped episode on Thursday but will not be in the show's live finale next week, The Wrap said.

"Out of respect for the contestants, my fellow judges and everyone involved with the show, I have made the decision not to attend the finale of 'The Four,'" Walk said, according to The Wrap. "I do not want my presence to be a distraction. Needless to say this is very upsetting.

"Although I continue to support the 'Me Too' movement, there has been an extreme rush to judgment against me in this particular case which is unfair and inconsistent with anything that even actually happened. I welcome any investigation so that in short order these unfounded and hurtful accusations can be put to rest," Walk continued.

Deadline Hollywood reported that Republic Records, which is part of Universal Music Group, suspended Walk and conducted an investigation after Coopersmith's letter. Deadline said a second woman has come forward charging that Walk acted inappropriately.
