Celine Dion has slashed the price of her Jupiter Island, Florida, home by $30 million, and is motivated to move on after the recent death of her husband Rene Angelil,
Jose Lambiet reported for Gossip Extra.
The Canadian singer’s six-acre beachside property is now priced at $45 million, far below the August 2013 listing price of $72.5 million. In April, the price was reduced to $62.5 million, according to reports.
“This is where Celine had the twins with Rene, and where she raised their oldest boy,” a source close to Dion said, according to Gossip Extra, “so she can’t bear living in there again.”
Adrian Reed, the listing agent, said the new price is appropriate.
“There might be a half dozen potential buyers in the world for this property, so it’s hard to gauge its value,” Reed said, according to Gossip Extra.
Dion had the house built in 2010. It has been the site of controversy, including a federal lawsuit over payment of overtime hours to the house staff and complaints from neighbors about the water park built on the site, Gossip Extra said.
The Fenton Lang Bruner & Associates website describes the property as including unforgettable ocean vistas, fabulous outdoor recreation, two spacious guesthouses, sports venues, and a spectacular two-story custom crafted main residence, which includes about 17,000 square feet.
Angelil died Jan. 14 after a battle against cancer. He was 73.
Tickets to see Dion perform have skyrocketed, Forbes reported. Dion is set to resume performances at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas on Feb. 23, where tickets are averaging $186. In June she is set to perform in France, where tickets for her most expensive date start at $402.
