News of "Full House" star Lori Loughlin's entanglement in the college admissions scam shook the  entertainment world, as did R. Kelly's indictment amid allegations of sexual assault. It has been a year of shocking entertainment-world scandals, and here we take a look at some of the biggest ones of 2019, as reported by USA Today.

  1. R. Kelly. For nearly two decades, R. Kelly has fought allegations of sexual misconduct but in February this year he was indicted. His tearful TV interview in which he maintained his innocence only fueled reports of his guilt.
  2. Jussie Smollett. In January, the "Empire" actor shocked the masses after claiming he had been the victim of a racist, anti-gay attack in January, complete with a noose being placed around his neck. Police later claimed Smollett, who is black and gay, staged the incident because he was unhappy with his salary and wanted publicity. He was charged with making a false report but the charges were later dismissed. The city is currently suing him while the actor maintains he was indeed a victim.
  3. Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman. The world reeled in shock when Felicity Huffman, Lori Loughlin, and dozens of others were charged in a $25 million scheme to help parents cheat their children's way into prestigious universities with a middleman who was arranging bribes to university employees. Huffman was sentenced to 14 days in prison for her involvement in the scam but Loughlin is facing a far harsher sentence.
  4. Ryan Adams. Earlier this year, reports began to emerge that singer and songwriter Ryan Adams was facing allegations of sexual harassment from several female artists. The scandal sent shockwaves across the nation.
  5. Woody Allen. Among the celebrity scandals to rock 2019 was the Woody Allen fiasco in which he made comments about being the face of the #MeToo movement. The actor, whose adopted daughter Dylan Farrow has claimed that he molested her in 1992, reasoned that he has worked with countless actresses during his time in showbiz.
  6. Cuba Gooding Jr. In June, police arrested Cuba Gooding Jr. amid allegations that he had squeezed a woman's breast without her consent. Other reports later emerged that he had also pinched a woman's buttocks without her consent. The Oscar-winning actor has maintained his innocence.
  7. Jedd Wyatt. The "Bachelorette" contestant faced massive backlash when reports emerged that he had been in a serious relationship just before appearing in the reality dating show in which he proposed to Hannah Brown.
  8. Chris Cuomo. The CNN anchor drew serious attention in August when an unidentified man referred to him as "Fredo," a term that Cuomo deemed a racist slur geared at Italians. During the heated exchange, Cuomo unleashed a slew of obscenities and threatened to throw the man down a flight of stairs. CNN said it stood behind Cuomo all the way.
