There was little joy in Hollywood on Wednesday morning as liberal celebrities there and elsewhere reacted in shock to Donald Trump's presidential victory which caught most by surprise.
Many of them had publicly supported Hillary Clinton and campaigned for her. According to the Huffington Post, they had a bleak outlook about the election.
Many of those who went out of their way to say they would leave the country if Trump won were silent, so far, including Neve Campbell, Bryan Cranston, Lena Dunham, Chelsea Handler, Samuel L. Jackson, Amy Schumer and Barbra Streisand
Miley Cyrus used profanity on Instagram during the Republican primaries to express her thoughts on a Trump presidency and moving to somewhere else:
"Honestly f*** this s*** I am moving if this is my president," said the pop star and daughter of country music star Billy Ray Cyrus to her 38 million followers on Instagram.
Fortune magazine noted that Cyrus and Taylor Swift simply posted cheerful "I voted" selfies, but many celebrities turned glum as Trump surged ahead.
However, conservative celebrities expressed joy about Trump as president-elect.
