CBN News to Launch 'Faith Nation,' New Political Talk Show on Facebook

By    |   Monday, 17 July 2017 01:11 PM EDT

CBN News plans to launch a new political talk show on Facebook called "Faith Nation" this week, Gordon Robertson, the chief executive of the network announced Monday.

"Faith Nation" will debut July 19 at 12:30 p.m. and will air every Wednesday on Facebook Live, said the network. The show, which will be hosted by CBN chief political correspondent David Brody and CBN news correspondent Jenna Browder, will focus on political topics that are of particular interest to Christians.

"There are millions of Christians in America whose values are not being echoed by much of the media," Robertson said in the CBN statement. "CBN's 'Faith Nation' will provide these viewers with a platform to be informed about important stories that are relevant to them, as well as to give them a real voice in the national discussion of those issues."

CBN News is the nonprofit news organization under the Christian Broadcasting Network, or CBN, founded by Pat Robertson in 1960. CBN is one of the largest Christian ministries in the world and is viewed in 117 nations and heard in 47 languages.

"'Faith Nation' is designed to tackle two topics we are told to not bring up at the dinner table: faith and politics," Dana Ritter, CBN News Washington D.C. bureau chief, said in the CBN statement.

"The show concept was hatched out of the idea that people still want to talk about it but are more comfortable discussing those issues on social media. We see the need to engage the audience where they already are and Facebook allows us to do that while also giving the audience a voice," Ritter added.
