Casey Anthony Interview Chased by NBC, Says TMZ, but Up in Air

Casey Anthony, who was acquitted in 2011 of murdering her daughter in a sensational Florida trial, has met with NBC News representatives about talking publicly for the first time, but no deal has been hammered out yet, according to TMZ.

The celebrity news outlet reported that Anthony, 29, was at an airport in New York City last week apparently on her way to sell her story, but ignored photographers and questions.

"We got video of her and veteran producer Don Wood arriving, and according to our sources, NBC paid for the flight," said TMZ. "As of now ... NBC's saying no deal yet – and you gotta figure she's also talking to other outlets in NYC."

The New York Daily News followed up on TMZ's report and quoted an unnamed NBC executive as saying, "There are no plans to do an interview or anything else with Casey Anthony."

Wood was described by the New York Post as an NBC news producer from Florida who also has experience in producing reality television shows. The Post said he and Anthony sat down with Matt Zimmerman, NBC News' top booker and senior producer for the "Today" show.

"News divisions meet with people in the news all the time — as of now, nothing is planned," a source told the Post.

The Post wrote that Anthony, who is currently living out of the spotlight in West Palm Beach, is asking for a "big-buck deal" for her interview.

After Anthony was acquitted in the 2008 death of her two-year-old daughter Caylee, she filed for bankruptcy in 2013, telling a Florida federal court she owed $792,000, noted the Orlando Sentinel.
