Carrie Underwood was injured in a fall outside her Nashville home, reportedly breaking her wrist.

The incident happened Friday night, The Tennessean reported, leaving her to cancel an appearance at the Country Rising benefit concert at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Sunday night.

The former American Idol winner was hospitalized after the fall.

"… Carrie Underwood took a hard fall on some steps outside her home," the singer's representative told ABC News. "While there were no life-threatening injuries, she was taken to the hospital to be treated. She sustained multiple injuries including a broken wrist and some cuts and abrasions from the fall."

Underwood's husband, retired NHL Nashville Predators star Mike Fisher, traveled back to Nashville overnight to care for Underwood, ABC News said.

Underwood had just recently cohosted the Country Music Association awards.

Fans showed their support for the multiple Grammy Award winner on Twitter.

Underwood issued a statement thanking fans on Twitter.

Some fans, though, were critical of the chart-topping singer, calling her fall "karma" for her joke with CMA Awards show cohost Brad Paisley about President Donald Trump.

Joking about CMA's media guidelines last Wednesday, Paisley and Underwood did a parody of Underwood's song "Before He Cheats" addressing Trump, with the chorus line, "Maybe next time he'll think before he tweets," The Associated Press reported.
