Caramilk chocolate blocks from Cadbury are being recalled after pieces of plastic were found inside some of them, the Sydney Morning Herald reported Thursday.

Caramilk was recently relaunched by Cadbury as a throw-back product after last being sold in 1994. Cadbury blamed the problem on a "machine fault during the manufacturing process," the newspaper said.

"Our analysis of the samples received to date has determined that this product does not appear to pose a serious health or food safety risk, but a recall has been initiated to prevent the risk of minor injury," said a spokesman for Mondelez International, the parent company for Cadbury, according to the Australian Broadcasting Corp.

ABC reported that Caramilk's 190-gram blocks have been available for sale in Coles, Woolworths, and IGAs in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia.

The network saide that independent retailers throughout Victoria have also stocked the product.

"Affected product should not be consumed and should be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund," a statement from the company said. "No proof-of-purchase is required. Our investigations confirm that this is an isolated incident, limited to Cadbury Caramilk product sold in Australia only with the best before dates of (Jan. 17, 2019 to Jan. 21, 2019).

Mondelēz International said none of its other products are affected by the product. Cadbury's Caramilk products sold in New Zealand are not affected by this recall, the company said.

Caramilk bars have been hot sellers on eBay, with a pack of seven Caramilk bars is being sold for $150, more than four times the recommended retail price, according to News.com.

Caramilk reappeared in the Cadbury collection last year in New Zealand and sold out in three weeks, according to News.com.
