A second Brexit referendum may be needed to finally put an end to the "whinging and whining" of anti-Brexit campaigners, a confident Nigel Farage said.

The former leader of the UK Independence Party noted that a second vote would remove doubt around Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union as “much bigger” numbers would back the move next time around, The Telegraph reported.

Farage originally was opposed to a re-do after successfully pushing for an exit.

"My mind is actually changing on this," Farage said on Channel 5's “The Wright Stuff,” according to CNBC.

Farage played a prominent role in the Leave.EU referendum campaign, which won the referendum with 51.9% of votes in June 2016, the BBC News reported.

As a result, the U.K. will leave the European Union on 29 March 2019, with negotiations taking place between the two countries to establish a working order post departure.

Brexit opponents have argued that the move would be reversed, with the former leader of the Labor Party, Tony Blair, saying that the electorate was not made fully aware of what the consequences would be should the U.K. leave “the largest free trade bloc in the world,” and called for the public to have a second vote, CNN reported.

Farage said in his interview that the likes of Blair would continue to oppose the move.

“They will go on whinging and whining and moaning all the way through this process,” he said, per The Telegraph.

“So maybe, just maybe, I’m reaching the point of thinking that we should have a second referendum on EU membership. … I think that if we had a second referendum on EU membership we would kill it off for a generation.”

Farage said the percentage of people that would “vote to leave next time would be very much bigger than it was last time round,” adding that “we may just finish the whole thing off. And Blair can disappear off into total obscurity.”
