A false bomb threat at O'Hare International Airport during boarding of an American Airlines flight on Friday reportedly led to the arrest of a Chicago man.

Michael Bielinski, 28, was boarding a flight around 5:20 p.m. and allegedly made statements to another passenger that suggested he had a bomb, NBC 5 Chicago reported.

"We're all going to die," he reportedly told the passenger, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. He also said, "The plane is going to explode" and other comments about bombs, according to prosecutors on the case. He allegedly also took an object out of his pocket that looked like a pipe and began to put a battery into it, the Sun-Times reported.

The pipe was actually an electronic vaping cigarette, the Sun-Times said. The woman reported Bielinski's behavior to the flight crew as well as her observation that he smelled strongly of gasoline, the Sun-Times reported. The plane, which had already begun to taxi for take-off to Sacramento, then returned to the gate and Bielinski was arrested.

The arrest report said that Bielinski had a strong odor of kerosene and that he had 10 mg of THC on him, although the form was unclear, the Sun-Times reported.

Bielinski was held on $5,000 bail for the felony disorderly conduct charge. His private attorney didn't show up to court, the public defender said. According to the Sun-Times, he has worked as a truck driver for the last two years. He will appear in court next Friday.
