Bobbi Kristina Brown's autopsy has been sealed by a Georgia court pending an ongoing criminal investigation into her death. A civil lawsuit is already blaming her boyfriend Nick Gordon for her death.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner issued a
release on Friday evening announcing the ruling about the autopsy in the July 26 death of the only child of the late music superstar Whitney Houston and entertainer Bobby Brown, reported the
Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
"The Fulton County Medical Examiner has classified the cause and manner of Bobbi Kristina Brown's death based on information available as of Sept. 25, 2015," reads the examiner's release.
"However, a Fulton County Superior Court order dated Sept. 25, 2015 has been received sealing the autopsy report and ordering the medical examiner to not release any further information to the public. The Fulton County district attorney and Roswell Police Department have been informed of the medical examiner's findings."
Brown was found unresponsive face down in a bathtub full of water at a home in suburban Atlanta on Jan. 31 and never fully regained consciousness until her death in July, said
CNN. The incident was
eerily similar to the death of her famous mother who was found unconscious in a hotel bathtub on Feb. 11, 2012, the evening before the Grammy Awards.
"Entertainment Tonight" said Brown's court-appointed conservator Bedelia Hargrove filed a civil lawsuit June 24 against Brown's boyfriend Nick Gordon. The lawsuit charged that Gordon beat Brown and took thousands of dollars from her.
The lawsuit was amended in August adding the explosive charge that Gordon "gave Bobbi Kristina a toxic cocktail rendering her unconscious and then put her face down in a tub of cold water causing her to suffer brain damage" during a late-night "cocaine and drinking binge," wrote "ET."
Gordon's legal team slammed the lawsuit in September in a statement to "ET." The team includes Jose Baez, who defended Casey Anthony against first-degree murder charges in 2011, noted ET.
"Nick has been heartbroken and destroyed over the loss of his love and it's shameful that such baseless allegations have been presented publicly," Gordon's lawyers said in the statement. "Nick has engaged civil counsel and intends to defend the lawsuit vigorously and expose it for what it is: a fictitious assault against the person who loved Krissy most."
