A family Bible passed down for generations survived a devastating fire that destroyed a house — leaving one firefighter in tears.
It was a sign from God, the homeowner, Scot Byrd of Bon Secour, Alabama, told Fox News.
"The fireman actually came out [of the home] with tears in his eyes and he said, 'You're not going to believe this. You've got to come see it for yourself.' This Bible did not have one scorch mark on it."
Byrd said his family has been going through some tough times lately, including his 7-year-old daughter's battle against with leukemia. Fox10 News reports she is in remission.
And Byrd says: "We don't give up. We've had an outpouring from the community. If I were to name everyone [who's helped] by name, I would be here for two hours."
