Bernard Kerik in ALC Ad Spot: Time to Fight for Our Sovereignty Is Now

By    |   Tuesday, 13 February 2018 12:55 PM

Bernard Kerik, the 9/11-era NYPD commissioner, appears in a new immigration ad for the American Legacy Center (ALC) advocating for fellow Americans to support strong border security and highlighting the dangers of letting the "wrong people" into the country.

The ad forms part of a broader initiative by the ALC, the Sovereignty Now project, which lends support to the Trump administration’s plans for building a border wall, among other things.

“I’ve seen firsthand what can happen when we let the wrong people into this country,” Kerik, who is also a frequent guest on NewsmaxTV and a Newsmax contributor, says in the spot.

“This looming immigration deal better recognize a few simple realities, or it shouldn’t be supported — America is a sovereign nation, our citizens have the right to secure borders, and the right to choose who gets to come in.”

The Senate kicked off open-ended debate on immigration this week after Majority Leader Mitch McConnell made good on a promise to do so as part of staving off another government shutdown last month.

"I believe a wall is needed," Kerik says in the ad. "If you're like me, [and] you love this country, [and] you want to see this country prosper . . . The time for us to fight for our sovereignty is right now. . . Put America first. Force your members of Congress to do their job."
