The Bat-signal will shine over City Hall in Los Angeles on Thursday night as a tribute to Adam West, the "Batman" actor who died June 9 after a battle with leukemia at age 88.
The ceremony, to be led by Mayor Eric Garcetti and Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck, is set to begin at 9 p.m., the Los Angeles Times reported.
The Bat-signal, used in "Batman" comics by Gotham City Police Department to summon the superhero, will be projected onto City Hall.
Garcetti announced the tribute on Twitter.
Actor Burt Ward, who played sidekick Robin with West, said in a guest column for The Hollywood Reporter that West loved being a star.
"People always asked Adam if he felt like he’d been typecast, if Batman had hurt his career. But I know he loved it. He loved being a star," Ward noted.
Twitter users cheered the City Hall Bat-signal tribute.
