Some people take their fast food seriously — way too seriously apparently, judging by the actions of a Connecticut woman who went bonkers, assaulted a pregnant store manager and ended up busted by police when she didn’t like the way her McDonald’s McChicken sandwich was prepared.
Police says that Shannelle Hanson ordered her McChicken sandwich from a drive-thru window near her Norwich home, The Smoking Gun reported. The 21-year-old flew into a rage when she unwrapped her sandwich to find it had not been made according to her standards.
Hanson stormed into the restaurant and demanded a refund but according to a police report, once she had received her money she then made her way behind the counter to confront the manager, who is 29-weeks pregnant.
An employee told police that Hanson, who was aware of the woman's pregnancy, slapped the manager in the face then shouted that she was "going to make the food herself." A male employee tried to separate them and Hanson allegedly pushed and slapped him.
According to the police report, Hanson then told the manager that she had bail money and didn’t care that she was pregnant.
"She hoped I lost my child," the pregnant woman said.
Hanson was arrested at the scene and charged with breach of peace and assaulting a pregnant woman. She told police she did not know who threw the first punch and that she had merely "stepped behind the counter" to make her own sandwich. Hanson was released on $5000 bond and will appear in court soon.
