Anita Baker is believed to be retiring after posting a series of tweets this week that some have taken as a hint that the singer could be announcing her retirement.

The "cryptic tweets" included one in which the Grammy-winning singer wrote, “Lotta rumors out there. No Tour. No CD. #Retired #BeachBum #ThankUJesus,” Cleveland.com noted.

Baker came on the scene in 1983, debuting her album, “The Songstress,” according to Billboard.

Baker would become a household name in the music industry after releasing her second album, “Rapture,” three years later. It became No. 1 on the Top Black Albums chart, winning her two Grammys.

Baker released three more top five albums since “Rapture,” and she currently has a top-10 hit list on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, according to Billboard.

The last time Baker released any music was in 2012 when she did a remake to Tyrese Gibson’s song, “Lately.” The remake was supposed to be the first single on an album she had planned to release shortly after. However, that album, “Only Forever,” was never released.

Baker received a Grammy for her remake of “Lately” in 2013.

According to the Electronic Urban Report, Baker has won a total of eight Grammy Awards in her long career.

She’s also recorded five platinum albums and one gold album.

Here’s a few of the tweets that had Baker’s fans thinking the famed singer was calling it quits after an illustrious career in music.
