Angela Ramey's half-court shot that bounced into the basket earlier this month at Bethany Academy in suburban Minneapolis won a half-year's tuition for her daughter, and now a clip of the trick shot is going viral on Facebook.

Ramey's 9-year-old daughter Grace won a school fundraiser by collecting the most money for a Kids Against Hunger event that serves food shelters in the area, KARE-TV reported. The prize for winning the fundraiser was a chance to score the tuition stipend by making a half-court shot.

In front of a crowd of people, the mother-daughter tandem missed on their first two attempts, but the third try caught nearly everyone by surprise. Ramey lobbed the ball high into the air. It fell well short of the basket, but with one bounced rattled its way into the hoop.

"I believe you can," Ramey's daughter yelled out with encouragement as Ramsey attempted the shot. "I think you can."

Ramey's Shocked Shot

The unbelieveable half-court alley-oop shot and Angela's shocked reaction when she realizes the ball went in the basket! Thanks Alex Matheson (videographer and BA dad) for capturing Angela Ramey and Grace last Friday, deciding who's going to take the shot to try to score half-off tuition next year. Angela throws the basketball granny style with her eyes closed, then screams in disbelief when the cheering students and staff convince her she scored. She's jumping amid 41,040 meals packed by 235 students during Friday's "Bethany Loves Bloomington" meal packing event Friday, a service project undertaken to help feed the hungry in Bloomington and the surrounding communities. The Ramey's won the chance for the half-court/half-tuition prize by being the family who raised the most money during the school's fundraiser.

Angela Ramey's stunned reaction at the basket was captured in a video posted on Facebook that has garnered more than 886,000 views since it was posted Dec. 7.

"Are you serious," Ramey screamed at the end of the video as the crowd in the gymnasium roared with approval.

WCCO-TV reported that the event was tied to the school's "Bethany Loves Bloomington" campaign where 235 students helped pack meals to take to the hungry people in surrounding communities.

The story and accompanying video sparked an emotional reaction for some on social media.

"I don't know why I am so emotional after watching this, but one thing I noticed in this video is how much of an impact this school is making for those who need something to eat," Facebook user Brian Krause commented. "And maybe the whole story is why this got to me so good. So happy for this family and her reaction is priceless."

Kareem Oliver Diaz added on Facebook: "Congratulations to the family! That's just great. And please, don't call it a granny shot. She went full on 'Rick Barry' style. He perfected the shot in the NBA in the '70s with the Warriors."
