Anderson Cooper Pranked: CNN Staff Makes Fun of Host's Smelly Candle

Anderson Cooper got pranked by his coworkers on "AC360" this week when they used a segment of the program to complain about a foul-smelling candle on his office desk.

Cooper launched into his "Ridiculist" segment on the annoying habits of coworkers by reading from the teleprompter and was totally caught off-guard when the video clip rolled and showed his office with a basil-scented candle burning.

"Oh, really? This is what 'The Ridiculist' is about tonight?" Cooper asked his staff on live television, according to E! News. "I should have read it ahead of time."

"Really?! Some of my coworkers do not like the way my candle smells?" he continued. "This is cold! And you don't tell me. You let me read it on a teleprompter. Wow. This is new to me. This is completely news to me."

Cooper then read off a list of what his staff said his candle smelled like: "Grandma's house, old mall, Italian salad, Woodstock vomit, garden gnome's underwear drawer, dumpster ravioli, Mario Batali's crocs, herb garden growing in a landfill, and a brothel in Tuscany."

He finished the segment by reminding his coworkers who the boss is.

"I get a candle and this is what happens," Cooper said with a laugh. "Until this program is renamed "Anti-Candle360" I will do whatever I want to try to create a serene friggin' office environment for my coworkers and myself to enjoy."

This is not the first time Anderson has found himself on his own "Ridiculist" segment. Probably the most notable came in April 2012 when he made fun of himself for dissolving into a giggle fit during a story on the Dyngus Day Festival in Buffalo, New York.

Cooper went on the say during that program that he was not making fun of Buffalo or the festival, but was embarrassed about his giggle fit and the fact that he could not make himself stop laughing.
