Amy Schumer has revealed that she has Lyme disease and is asking her fans for advice on how to manage it. The comedian is not sure how long she has had the disease, but wrote in an Instagram post on Tuesday that she is determined to beat it.
"Anyone get LYME this summer?" she captioned a childhood photo of herself holding a fishing pole by a river. "I got it and I'm on doxycycline. I have maybe had it for years. Any advice? Can you have a glass of wine or 2 on it? I know to stay out of the sun. I'm also taking these herbs from cape cod called lyme-2."
Schumer asked followers with advice to comment on her photo or text her in a number provided in her Instagram.
"I also want to say that I feel good and am excited to get rid of it," she added.
Schumer has not shied away from speaking openly about her health and struggles.
In an August interview for "Sunday Today with Willie Geist," the "Trainwreck" actress admitted she can't get pregnant again and said she had considered a surrogate to have baby No. 2.
Schumer, who has a 1-year-old son with her husband Chris Fischer, opened up about her struggle to get pregnant again via IVF.
"We did IVF and IVF was really tough on me. I don't think I could ever do IVF again," Schumer said. "I decided that I can't be pregnant ever again," she continued. "We thought about a surrogate. but I think we're going to hold off for right now."
