Alex Trebek couldn't believe an entire football category stumped all three "Jeopardy" contestants on Thursday's episode, with the host poking fun at them as he read the questions.

Contestants Ryan, Sara, and Justin wisely saved the football category for last, but were still unable to even make a guess on any of the questions.

“I can tell you guys are big football fans,” Trebek said sarcastically before reading the $400 question.

He then asked, “Do you think we should go to commercial?”

Finally, after four missed questions without even a guess, Trebek said, “Let’s look at the $1000 clue, just for the fun of it.”

In the silence after the video question finished playing, Trebek said, “If you guys ring in and get this one, I will die.”

Finally the category was finished, and Trebek told the audience he was going to “talk to” the contestants during the commercial break.

The "Jeopardy" Twitter page also got in on the teasing, posting after the show’s airing, “Fun fact: Our contestants answered as many clues in this category as the @Browns had wins this season.”

CBS Sports chimed in with their own tweet giving kudos to Trebek’s taunts: “Trebek the real MVP.”

Twitter fans were only too happy to pile on.
