Alec Baldwin, the Emmy-award winning actor and unabashed liberal, will be added to
MSNBC's weekly lineup as a talk show host, sources tell Mediaite.
A "senior source in the cable news industry" told Mediaite that Baldwin, 55, will be on MSNBC at 10 p.m. on Fridays.
MSNBC currently broadcasts its "Lockup" prison documentaries at that time.

"The Last Word," with host Lawrence O'Donnell, occupies the 10 p.m. slot on MSNBC Mondays through Thursdays.
An MSNBC spokeswoman declined to confirm the news.
“We’re fans of Alec but we’ve got nothing to say regarding this unconfirmed report,” the spokeswoman told Mediaite.
Baldwin would likely be a liberal favorite but also a controversial host. Earlier this year, Baldwin was attacked for calling a British reporter "a toxic little queen" and is known for his offensive rants.
CNN's openly gay Anderson Cooper said that if a conservative said the same thing, they would have been viewed as homophobic, but Baldwin got a free pass because of his liberal politics.
Baldwin spent the last seven years playing a fake network executive on NBC's sitcom "30 Rock."
The New York Times reported in April that Baldwin was mentioned as a possible addition to NBC's late night lineup when Jimmy Fallon moves to "The Tonight Show."
Baldwin hosts a weekly podcast called "Here's the Thing" on WNYC, where he interviews actors and other celebrities.
HBO will premiere his documentary "Seduced and Abandoned," later this year, described as an "exploration of several interconnected subjects: The Cannes Film Festival, cinema art, money, glamor and death."
MSNBC is in the midst of a ratings slump, hitting a record low in the second quarter of 2013.
The Baldwin rumor comes the same week that it was revealed
Fox News' Megyn Kelly will get Sean Hannity's 9 p.m. time slot on the country's No. 1 cable news network.
