Alec Baldwin Accused of Homophobia Again After Tweet to Ex-Romney Aide

Alec Baldwin, recently fired from his poorly-rated MSNBC show "Up Late" after hurling anti-gay slurs at a photographer, is being accused of homophobia once again after getting into a fight with a former Mitt Romney aide on Twitter.

It all began when Baldwin tweeted his support for the documentary film "Above All Else" about the proposed Keystone XL oil pipeline, ABC News reports.

Garrett Jackson, Mitt Romney's former personal aide who now works for a private equity firm that invests in energy, tweeted back, "Need to do a film on how you and Hollywood distort our lives."

Clearly Jackson got Baldwin's blood boiling, just like the photographers and journalists at which Baldwin has previously hurled insults on the street.

"Losing that election still hurts like hell, dun’ it?" Baldwin tweeted tauntingly.

"Not as bad as the paparazzi feels when you hit em!" Jackson fired back, referencing Baldwin's recent episodes of rage.

Keeping his focus on the political, Baldwin responded, "What lost cause you working on now, maybe a Newt Gingrich fashion line?"

Baldwin didn't wait for a response from Jackson before he referenced his profile picture, which shows Jackson on one knee next to a sitting Romney as they look at a document. Baldwin tweeted, "You’re on your knees in that photo. What’s up with that, Garrett?"

And that's when Jackson delivered the K.O.

Perhaps realizing the homophobic innuendo and trying to make his previous comment appear to be about fealty, not sex, Baldwin continued the fight with, "While you’re on your knees, you can polish my Emmys."

Without flinching, Jackson quipped back, "Ha! While I am down there I will pick up the pieces of your failed show."

Baldwin did not respond to Jackson's last dig, and deleted all the tweets from the battle.

The actor has claimed many times that he is not homophobic, pointing out that he works with many gay people and supports same-sex marriage.

The incident, however, is just one of Baldwin's many that could be construed as homophobic — including but not limited to the aforementioned incident with the photographer, and references to the editor-in-chief of the New York Daily News Colin Myler as "Her Highness."

Baldwin has become known for his temper after a 2007 incident in which he left a voicemail for his daughter calling her a "thoughtless little pig," and has gotten in trouble on Twitter before as well.

After being kicked off an American Airlines flight for yelling obscenities at the crew, Baldwin tweeted more insults, and later deleted his personal account. He now tweets from his foundation's account.

Former president of the National Gay and Lesbian Journalist Association Steven Petrow defended the increasingly unpopular Baldwin to Fox News, saying, "Sometimes 'on your knees' is actually just 'on your knees,'" while the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) did not comment or condemn the actions.
