A photo of an Alberta, Canada, man mowing his lawn while a vicious-looking tornado looms behind him has become an internet sensation.
The tornado was seen swirling near Three Hills, Alberta, on Friday evening, but apparently that wasn't enough to stop Theunis Wessels from doing the lawn and scratching it off his jobs list. Cecilia Wessels snapped the picture of her dutiful husband while the tornado passed by, wrote The Canadian Press.
The photo being shared on Facebook more than 1,700 times.
"My beast mowing the lawn with a breeze in his hair," Cecilia Wessels wrote in the photo caption. She told The Canadian Press that it was her 9-year-old daughter who alerted her to the tornado and her father's determination to get the lawn done inspite of it.
Theunis Wessels told the news service, though, that the tornado was actually further away than it appears in the photo and moving away from them. He added that he was "keeping an eye" on the tornado as he mowed.
"I literally took the picture to show my mum and dad in South Africa, 'Look there's a tornado,' and now everyone is like, 'Why is your husband mowing the lawn?"' Cecilia Wessels told the Canadian Press Saturday. "Our whole street, everyone was on their back patios taking pictures."
Three Hills Royal Canadian Mounted Police Constable Ron Clarke told the CBC News that no one was hurt in the tornado and most of the damage there was concentrated to one property.
The photo kicked up some high winds on social media with many being impressed with Wessel's determination to finish his lawn care duties.
