Ailina Tsarnaev, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's Sister, in Court in Money Case

Ailina Tsarnaev, the sister of Boston bombing suspects Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, was released from a Boston court Wednesday after she turned herself in to clear her name in a 3-year-old case involving counterfeiting.

Ailina Tsarnaev, 23, reportedly had a warrant out for her arrest after she failed to show up to court on a charge of misleading police. According to investigators, Tsarnaev drove a car for a suspect who used a counterfeit bill at an Applebee's restaurant in Dorchester, Mass., in 2010.

"She did agree that her car was used and she was there," Assistant Suffolk District Attorney William Champlin IV told the Boston Herald, "but then was uncooperative as to who the other parties were."

Tsarnaev, who lives in West New York, N.J., appeared Wednesday in front of a South Boston District Court judge who released her without bail and gave her permission to return home as she awaits a Dec. 4 pretrial hearing. She must call into Massachusetts' probation office once a week in the meantime, the judge ruled.

Tsarnaev was questioned by FBI officials back in April after her brothers — Tamerlan, 26, and 20-year-old Dzhokhar — allegedly planted two pressure-cooker bombs at the Boston Marathon. The blasts killed three and injured more than 260 others.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed in a gunfight with police a few days after the bombing, and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was eventually captured. He's currently awaiting trial on federal charges that could bring him the death penalty.

"He was a great person," Ailina Tsarnaev, speaking of her brother Tamerlan, told reporters in April. "I thought I knew him. I never would have expected that from him. He is a kind and loving man. The cops took his life away just the same way he took others' lives away, if that's even true. At the end of the day, no one knows the truth."
