Even with gun and ammo sales soaring, still too many Americans have been conned into believing that guns are bad and will only make a bad situation worse.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Those of us who are terminally addicted to logic, pragmatism, and common sense know that we would rather have the opportunity to defend ourselves than to be gunned down like helpless sheep led to the slaughter.

Only tyrants and slave drivers would force citizens into unarmed helplessness.
There is no situation uglier, sadder, and in more need of repair than our inner cities where gangs of dope-dealing punks and thugs roam the streets with wild abandon and force the decent, law-abiding people to literally hide behind locked doors.
Gunfire, crack houses and gangs have all too often supplanted playgrounds, family walks, and bike rides. Our inner cities are virtual war zones and are the most dangerous places in America. My once beautiful hometown of Detroit is one of the worst.
God bless the men and women of the thin blue line, but they can’t be everywhere. Calling 9-1-1 and waiting for the cavalry to arrive is literally putting your life at risk. The protection of your life and the lives of your loved ones is — and will always be — the responsibility of you, the individual citizen.
What the decent, honorable and law-abiding citizens of our inner cities need is more access to guns and the training in the proper use of legally owned guns. While I have not and will never advocate vigilantism, what I do advocate is giving the good guys and gals the tools and training to defend their lives and the lives of their loved ones.
Remarkably, there remain insulated idiots who advocate keeping people defenseless and blaming guns for the carnage. Holding hands, marching and praying is not going to solve the violence epidemic that plagues our inner cities. People defending themselves will.
More guns does in fact equal less crime. Statistics don't lie.
I want to fix the problem, not continue with the same failed “feel-good” policies like the embarrassing counter-productive gun buyback programs and marches against violence.
These feel-good programs have not — and will not — do anything to quell the epidemic of violence in our inner cities. Those who believe these feel-good programs are effective are the enemy of peace and most assuredly will create more victims by advocating for programs that do not work.
Father Flanagan, who started Boys Town nearly 100 years ago in Omaha, believed there were “no bad boys, only bad environment, bad training, bad example and bad thinking.” Good points, but Father Flanagan did not have to deal with boys who do not value life, including their own.
It is heartbreaking but true, that there are simply soulless murdering thugs out there who are not reachable, teachable or salvageable. They are a lost generation of punks.
Indeed, fixing the violence epidemic in our inner cities includes more than arming the good guys, but it is the first step in the right direction so that they can defend themselves and their families.
The problem of our inner cities is a lack of guns in the hands of good guys and gals who reside in these war zones. We should do good for these good people and arm them.
That’s the moral, ethical and responsible thing to do.
Restrictive gun laws are a criminal's best friend, and a surefire recipe for victimization.
