As I wrap up the greatest, most exhilarating, dare I say ferocious R&B & R&R tour of my life carrying on the powerhouse legacy of James Brown and his Famous Flames celebrating our new "Shut Up & Jam!" CD loaded with soul music and love songs, I bring you glowing, positive spirit and energy from across the American hinterland and beyond.
In this year of our Lord 2014, I performed my 6,500th out-of-control high-energy concert with the tightest band on earth, performing the coolest songs for the greatest audiences an artist could ever dream of, and for that I sincerely thank real music lovers everywhere with all my heart and soul. On behalf of my wonderful family, my killer band, world-class professional crew, management, and the entire Nugent Spirit of the Wild team, God bless America!
But 6,500 ultra-fun concerts wouldn't satisfy this old guitar player, so before and or after each of these 6,500 concerts I had the unique honor and privilege to hold meetings and roundtable discussions with America's best working-hard, playing-hard families from every imaginable walk of life.
We got this "we the people" thing going on. Cops, teachers, farmers, ranchers, small business operators, huge business operators, heroes of the U.S. military and their families, good, true to the core, grass-roots Americans who love their country and push themselves to remain in the asset column of life.
The difference in atmosphere and pulse from those early gatherings 50-some odd years ago compared to today's meetings is stark and very telling.
There has always been good, bad, and ugly, and the people I meet with are educated, experienced, and smart enough to know the difference and how to improvise, adapt, and overcome pretty much any obstacle course they may encounter.
But never in our wildest dreams or nightmares could any of us have ever imagined the America we find ourselves in today. There is much heartbreak, frustration, and growing anger at the tragedy that is the suicidal fundamental transformation of this once-great country at the hands of a corrupt, power-abusing government gone mad and dangerously out of control.
When the Saul Alinsky gang of liars and manipulators pose as journalists, it is difficult to fathom how they can get away with it as the First Amendment gets trampled underfoot.
That a tsunami of fictitious, hateful headlines misrepresenting my statements go unchallenged by no one is an indictment of soulless disconnect infesting our nation.
With but a modicum of research, the truth is inescapable that I have never in my life made disrespectful or disparaging comments about my American Native blood brothers. My statements leveled at the bussed in fake protesters at my concerts were accurate and fact based from actual eyewitness, first-person observations.
When screaming, hateful protesters show up wearing American Communist regalia and badges, and when confronted by inquiries as to why they are protesting, incapable of forming a cognitive sentence, I feel confident that they qualify as unclean vermin.
And none of the protesters were Native American. Not a one until much later in the game after some of the hopelessly gullible amongst them fell for the orchestrated, scripted lies of MoveOn.org, the Huffington Post, and the scam artists at Southern Poverty Law Center.
This reality is best observed in the poignant response of my longtime personal assistant, Ms. Linda Peterson, to a typically phonics-challenged hater on my Facebook page, thusly:
"I am writing to you in regards to the picture of Ted Nugent, wearing the aboriginal head dress. I would appreciate if you would please take down the photo of Ted wearing the aboriginal head dress with a bow n arrow and gun in his hands . . . I find this very disrespectful and insulting to my cultural back round. I feel with Ted recent out burst of racism and the picture I stated with the head dress, that he is trying to convey aboriginals as he quoted " unclean vermin". I will not stand for this kind of blatant racism . . ."
Greetings from Tedquarters:
Mr. Nugent has a long history of working with a wide variety of Native American Tribes across our great country.
He has been an honored guest at many tribal meetings, has worked with Native American youth, and was honored and humbled to be inducted into the Strongheart Society by the Lakota Sioux, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapahoe Tribes.
Mr. Nugent served as the Keynote Speaker for Native American Fish & Wildlife Society National Conference in Anchorage, Alaska, as well as for The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa & Chippewa Indians in Michigan, and we were proud to host Native American Dancers from the Grand Traverse Band as our special guests for a performance before a crowd of 15,000 in Detroit.
Ted was asked by tribal elders in Nebraska to instruct their youth in current methodologies of shooting with bow and arrow, which he cited as one of the most rewarding experiences in his lifelong career as an outdoorsman and hunter.
One of Ted's most revered songs, "Great White Buffalo," disparages the greed of the white man and sends a message of hope for Native Americans who revere Mother Earth and our natural renewable resources.
Mr. Nugent wears the head dress as a sign of reverence, and deep respect for the Native American culture and traditions. So no, we will not be taking the photos down.
Assistant to Mr. Nugent
Anyone with a hint of fair play or sense of right over wrong can see clean through these lies and vicious propaganda ministry assaults.
Even some of the brain-dead liberal hate sheep had to admit that their side got it completely wrong, but such evidence was abruptly swept aside as to not interfere with the "destroy Nugent" haters.
I stand by my statements, I stand by my beliefs, and I stand by the self-evident truths that are being destroyed and mocked, i.e., fundamentally transformed by freedom haters, U.S. Constitution haters, truth haters, independence haters, America haters, and Ted Nugent haters running amok in our land.
Those of us that bust our collective ass to give as much as possible for our country stand opposed to those cretins that squawk and squeal what their fellow citizens must do for them.
Oh, I'm divisive alright. On my side are the good guys, on their side, the haters. So be it.
"We the people" isn't a cute catchphrase. It's not a clever colloquialism. It is indeed a battle cry for the last best place on earth, where rugged individualism, courageous risk-taking entrepreneurship, and freedom and liberty ring true.
"We the people" is my job, my duty, my responsibility to earn my American dream, so I will continue to raise hell, speak up, demand accountability from my elected employees and do everything in my power to unite good Americans to take back this country from the haters and Saul Alinsky fundamental transformers.
Then and only then will I shut up and jam. And dear God in heaven, do we ever jam the American freedom soundtrack!
