So here we go again. Another shooting at Fort Hood.
As I bang out these words, it appears most of the gory details are pretty much figured out. We know who the shooter was, and we know how many are dead, injured, and the severity of their injuries.
At this heartbreaking time, the Nugent family and everyone we know bow our heads in solemn prayer for the victims, their families, our warrior blood brothers at Fort Hood and America.
Will the Department of Defense embarrass themselves and America again by insanely labelling this as another “work place violence” act? Maybe they will blame it on a YouTube video. Maybe they will have finally learned their lesson and will put the blame squarely on the vicious monster who carried it out.
Damn right I’m mad.
I’m mad as hell because the self-inflicted scourge of political correctness and the entrenched dishonesty of our government has once again put our brave, unarmed troops in the cross hairs of an evil person with a weapon.
I’m mad as hell because we refuse to learn the most basic of lessons as it pertains to mass shootings, and that is that gun-free zones such as Fort Hood are really engineered slaughter zones where politically correct fedzillacrats and various other stooges mandate that innocent Americans must be unarmed and helpless. This is state-sanctioned barbarism.
Good guys with guns don’t go on random killing sprees. What they could do is at least have the opportunity to try to defend themselves against voodoo monsters or psychotic murderers.
Instead, on federal property such as Army bases and other installations, our troops and fellow Department of Defense civilians are mandated to be defenseless sitting ducks. They cannot carry weapons. They are not allowed to keep and bear arms. They are forced into unarmed helplessness.
It is beyond the pale that anyone could possibly not trust the best trained warriors in the world to be armed. These greatest of warriors fight and die for the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, but somehow in this bizzarro world America has turned into, those heroes best trained with weapons are not trusted to be armed and ready to defend themselves and stop evil in its tracks.
They fight and die for the Second Amendment, but are denied this most basic God-given individual right to keep and bear arms. This is the new, soulless America that we must all fix ASAP.
We saw the result of this barbarism just a few years ago at Fort Hood where the subhuman Maj. Hasan killed 13 military heroes and wounded scores more before being taken down by law enforcement. As occurs literally millions of times each year across America, a good person with a gun stopped the carnage. I hope someone is writing this down.
We saw it last September at the Washington Naval Yard where a psycho killed a dozen people and wounded a few more in another gun-free zone.
All these victims were forced to be unarmed. This is state sanctioned barbarism that suckles on the toxic teat of political correctness.
When seconds count and people are dying, the good guys are only minutes away. This isn’t a strategy unless your strategy is ignoring the facts and allowing people to die so that fedzillacrats can play politically correct games with the lives of others. Damn them. Damn them all.
Congressman Steve Stockton of Texas introduced legislation a couple of months ago that would help to bring a long overdue halt to this political correctness and allow military personnel to carry weapons on federal installations.
Maybe it’s time the GOP grows a spine and gets behind Congressman Stockton’s legislation that would actually help in saving lives instead of ensuring more needless victims. How about it GOP?
Politically correct gun-free zones should be made extinct on federal and state installations and properties. All the proof that we need is here: defenseless good guys turn into dead and mangled good guys when they are unarmed and helpless. Can we finally learn this most basic of lessons?
State-sanctioned barbarism and its ugly cousin political correctness must die so that good people can have the means to defend themselves. If you find fault with this, you’re beyond help.
Damn right I’m mad.
