On September 22, 1862, Abraham Lincoln issued his preliminary Emancipation Proclamation, in which he declared that as of January 1, 1863, all slaves in states in rebellion against the Union "shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free."

Such an American revolution of human conscience to abandon slavery has spread from the U.S. until the United Nations ended slavery officially, on December 2, 1949.

There could be several modern definitions for different forms of slavery, however, the well-known type that put humans in chains to be sold in slave markets can not be easily erased from the memory of history and the memory of human mankind. This is the kind of slavery that many of us has seen portrayed on American television when ABC-TV aired the series "Roots: The Saga of an American Family" in January 1977 that was based on Alex Haley's 1976 novel.

Such a disgusting form of slavery was virtually eliminated from most of the world until the "wonderful" policies of former president Obama regarding radical Islam allowed the Islamic State or IS (ISIS) to become powerful enough to reinstitute slavery again in our modern times.

In the wildest dreams of many people it was virtually impossible to even imagine that they could see again slave markets with women and young children in chains sold to be raped by their new owners or “masters.”

Obama’s policies of ignoring the role of the Islamic ideology — which until today justifies and teaches enslavement and raping of female war prisoners — in creating the phenomenon of radical Islam, let alone fighting such an ideology effectively, has allowed the reinstitution of slave markets again in the 21st century.

Obama’s weak approach in confronting the Islamic radicals and showing them several forms of concessions has allowed the emergence of slave markets again in our human history.

To understand the outcome of the above-mentioned Obama policies (or lack of policies!) let us read what the ISIS survivor Nadia Murad has said in The Washington Post.

According to The Washington Post, “When the Islamic State swept into northern Iraq in 2014, thousands of Yazidis were killed and thousands more were kidnapped, including women and girls who were taken as sex slaves.”

The story of Murad was further elucidated as follows: “Murad was put on a bus with other young women, relatives and neighbors, and Islamic State fighters began groping the women. … Islamic State gunmen took away Murad’s mother to be killed. They set an elderly woman on fire. Murad and the other young women were taken to the home of a wealthy family in the city of Mosul, where crowds of men grabbed at them. One man extinguished a cigarette on Murad’s stomach. Another man chose three women, paying for them in U.S. dollars. The rest were offered up at a chaotic slave market, and Murad was dragged off by the first of her tormentors.”

This was the outcome of the failed Obama’s policies regarding radical Islam.

On the contrary, when President Donald Trump came to power he promised on his inauguration day to eradicate ISIS form the face of earth. In less than a year's time, after his promise, the Post had to mention that “Islamic State militants have lost the last of their strongholds.”

Thanks to President Trump for keeping his promise and for ending the suffering of thousands of innocent Christian and Yazidi women and children who were sold as slaves to be raped by the Mujahedeen of the Islamic state. Thanks Mr. President for wiping the tears out of their eyes. All the victims of slavery of ISIS and all the world should be grateful to you for what you did in less than a year's time.

Based on these facts, I consider Donald Trump another Abraham Lincoln as his efforts have significantly contributed to ending one of the most shameful things in human history, slavery.
