Judge Jeanine Pirro is formidable.
An accomplished jurist, a sought-after commentator on the law and politics, host of a successful national show, and a best-selling author, Judge Pirro is an American original.
She’s also brilliant and sees through rhetoric to find the truth behind veils and tricks.
So it’s not a good idea to lie to her.
Her new book, "Don’t Lie to Me and Stop Trying to Destroy Our Freedom," is Judge Pirro at her finest. It’s out this week and it could not come at a better or more dangerous time for our country.
"Don’t Lie to Me" is incisive as Pirro looks back at the last four years. What has President Trump done in his first term? How have Democrats reacted? Who’s telling the truth about anything?
Pirro writes that Donald Trump has done something very few politicians can claim: He has kept his promises. This week, he will appoint a successor to late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
While Democrats whine and throw tantrums about it, Pirro would note that Trump is just fulfilling the promise he made to his voters four years ago to nominate originalist judges and justices. To date he has gotten more than 300 appointed to the bench. Democrats can lie all they want (and they do, as Pirro demonstrates), but he’s doing the job his bosses want him to do.
Concurrently, Pirro writes, the Democrats have become a party that has deliberately set out to lie about Trump and even destroy our freedoms if they believe doing so will persuade Americans to vote him out of office.
So the Democrats locked their states down, claiming they had to because of the coronavirus pandemic, and destroyed the incredibly strong economy Trump had built.
The "liberal lockdowns" were unprecedented and unnecessary, Pirro writes.
They were and are a political tool to undermine Trump’s chief strength and make Americans believe he had not built up the strongest economy in American history — in large part by undoing the destructive policies Joe Biden, Barack Obama and the Democrats put in place when they had unchecked power over Washington.
Pirro spends a whole chapter on New York Mayor Bill de Blasio.
He provides a character sketch of a lack of character, and a policy manual on how to destroy a great city. Pirro skewers de Blasio mercilessly, in what may be the book’s most entertaining chapter. De Blasio is simply the wrong man for any level of responsibility, in contrast to Trump, who is as Pirro writes the perfect man to be president in this moment for our country.
"Don’t Lie to Me" is a tour de force in exposing lie after lie from the left.
Does Congress really care about you so much it passed the C.A.R.E. Act? No.
Judge Jeanine spends a chapter ripping through the halls of Congress and tearing down its tower of lies before and during the pandemic crisis.
What about the police?
Democrats from Minneapolis, to Washington, D.C., to New York, to Portland, to Austin have bowed to mobs and slashed funding from police departments.
Many predicted this would lead directly to more crime and especially more violent crime. Democrats refused to listen and take no responsibility now. Some even bragged about the cuts, all while demoralized police walked off the job in droves and our streets became more violent as some warned would happen.
Pirro argues we should defend police, not defund them. Democrats lie now, as she points out, when they say they don’t support defunding police and never did. Defunding briefly became an unofficial Democratic Party policy, but the decisions made during that time will haunt Americans for years to come. Pirro exposes Democrats for trying to create "liberal paradise" but instead fostering crime-ridden h****holes.
From "Bunker Biden" and his questionable subservience to the communists in China, to the miracle in the Mideast as Democrats accuse Trump of fostering war only to have to sit by while he made peace break out, to the future of our nation if socialists like AOC continue to wield power, "Don’t Lie to Me" may be the most important book of the year.
Forget the likes of Bob Woodward, who is very much stuck in the past with his old-fashioned "gotcha" takes. Judge Jeanine Pirro looks at the last four years as a guide to the future and concludes in her closing argument that Trump is the man of the moment and deserves re-election. As for the Democrats, it’s not wise to lie to Judge Pirro.
That won’t stop them, of course. But she will catch them and call them to account.
