Obama Surrenders to Iran

When was the last time a Democratic president fought to win a war? 1945. FDR and Harry Truman were committed to a clear cut Allied victory over the Axis. And they were willing and able to do whatever it took, up to and including dropping atom bombs in Asia. And then it ended.

It's hard to imagine that President Truman, a man who was solely responsible for ending our war in Japan, would introduce a policy of pre-emptive surrender in Korea.

What is preemptive surrender? Pre-emptive surrender is when you tell your war foes what war tactics (or weapons) you won't use, so they can be assured of victory.

Truman said we wouldn't invade China, the sponsor of North Korea. President Kennedy wouldn't support the Bay of Pigs Cuban patriots. Lyndon Johnson literally outlawed the bombing of North Vietnam. Ho Ho Ho Chi Minh.

Jimmy Carter refused to threaten the Iranians when they kidnapped our embassy staff.

All Ronald Reagan had to do was take the oath of office. Voila! Home they came.

Bill Clinton absorbed repeated al-Qaida attacks including the first World Trade Center building without so much as a whimper.

After 17 of our sailors from the USS Cole were killed, Wild Bill fired two Cruise missiles at nothing in particular so our enemies would know that their terrorist attacks were free to continue. Then came 9/11, just in time for the party of pre-emptive surrender to blame President George Bush.

To take pre-emptive surrender to unimaginable heights we needed Barack Obama.

President Obama openly ran on a preemptive surrender platform. Nuclear bombs? Off the table. The war in Iraq? Full pullout with a date certain told in advance. Afghanistan? Declare victory. When that doesn't work, blame Bush.

The full flower of pre-emptive surrender is the Iran deal. This is how pre-emptive surrender works. Iran wants three things: lifting of sanctions, nuclear weapons and military supremacy in the Middle East.

Fortunately President Obama also wants three things: the lifting of sanctions on Iran, nuclear weapons for Iran and Iranian supremacy in the Middle East. This is easy.

President Obama wants to surrender and the Iranians want us to surrender. So what took so long? Our side had to figure out the sequence of lies we were going to tell to either fool or bore the public.

It started with the promise to shut hard water facilities; passed through any time, anywhere inspections; and proceeded to snap back sanctions, none of which are in the deal. We offered pre-emptive surrender. They accepted. What's not to like?

There's only one missing ingredient; that pesky document known as the United States Constitution. The Constitution clearly states that treaty approval requires a two-thirds vote of the Senate. What to do?

President Obama simply declared that the treaty wasn't a treaty. The Republicans never pushed back. Apparently it never occurred to our leadership that constitutional differences are decided in the Supreme Court, not the Oval Office.

So the GOP leadership “demanded” the right to vote on this non-treaty and to try to amass a two-thirds vote to stop it, unlike the Constitution that requires a two-thirds vote to pass it.

Pre-emptive surrender? It's bipartisan.
