Obama's Syria Strategy Unravels

This week brought into sharp focus just how misguided, unfocused, and ineffective our strategy in Syria has been — if we’ve had one at all.
 
Peace talks have collapsed, Bashar Assad’s murderous regime continues, the rebels have splintered, a mere 11 percent of Assad’s chemical weapons have been collected, and radical operatives aligned with al-Qaida are settling in nicely.
 
Where we go from here is anyone’s guess. The Obama administration has seemingly taken military action off the table, but without the threat of force, it doesn’t look like anything on the ground will change. And now the U.S. is intimately involved in the process, whether we like it or not.
