December 11, 2023: Eighty percent (80%) of voters believe it’s important for any cease-fire agreement to have a requirement for Hamas to acknowledge Israel’s right to exist. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 29% of voters believe it is very important and 36% believe it is absolutely essential.

The survey also found that 86% of voters believe guaranteeing Israel’s national security is absolutely essential (38%), very important (29%), or somewhat important (19%) for any agreement regarding a permanent ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

Methodology

The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points. The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on November 28-29, 2023. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.
