Over the next few days, more than 180,000 visitors will attend the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. More than 4,500 exhibitors will be showing off their latest innovations.

"Visitors are likely to see more dazzling TV screens, intuitive robots, a range of voice-activated devices, and folding or roll-up smartphone displays."

Procter & Gamble will even "demonstrate ways to use facial recognition and AI for improved skin care and beauty recommendations."

The glittery annual event is produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) —the technology trade association representing the $292 billion U.S. consumer technology industry.

The first CES was held in 1967.

In 1977, Apple Computer introduced its first personal computer at the show.
