Soyuz Carrying Americans, Russian Lands

Friday, 26 November 2010 07:02 AM EST

MOSCOW — A Russian Soyuz spacecraft carrying two Americans and a Russian from the International Space Station has landed in Kazakhstan.

Cosmonaut Fyodor Yurchikhin and astronauts Shannon Walker and Douglas Wheelock touched down Friday morning in the steppes of the Central Asian nation. Video from the scene showed the space fliers being extracted from the capsule in apparently good condition.

The landing took place four days earlier than initially planned because Kazakh officials have requested air space be kept clear for the Dec. 1-2 summit by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
