Gov. Cuomo Embraces WFP's Tax-Raising Schemes

New York ranks at the very bottom on the “Small Business Survival Index” and The Tax Foundation, a nonpartisan Washington, D.C., tax research group that ranked New York state as the worst place in the nation for establishing a business based on taxes.

If one considers those facts, and the fact that we remain in a recession, how can Gov. Andrew Cuomo not be embarrassed to tout this weekend’s endorsement of the extreme leftist Working Families Party (WFP)?

The WFP supports raising taxes, and pursues policies which are bad for business. Is this Cuomo telling business owners to get out of New York at even quicker numbers than they are now leaving?

Lest we forget too quickly, in January, Cuomo said conservative New Yorkers don’t belong in the state because "that's not what New Yorkers are." He added "right-to-life, pro-assault weapons, anti-gay—if that's who they are, they have no place in the state of New York because that's not who New Yorkers are." As William F. Buckley said, “Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views.”

Along these lines, one wonders if this is a continuation of Cuomo’s extremist telling people it must be done his way? Allying with the WFP is alienating to many New Yorkers who are proud capitalists, opposed to even bigger government and higher taxes.

This New Yorker – who employs over 100 people at his pr firm — says capitalism is not a bad word. Politicians should not be proud to ally with anyone opposed to business.
