In a new escalation of Trump Derangement Syndrome, President Trump is being blamed for an unprecedented shortage of men who want to look at naked women cavorting (this is after all a family column) on the video screen.

At least that’s what publicity-hound Stephanie Clifford, stage (mattress?) name: Stormy Daniels, would have us believe.

The RedState headline says it all: “Stormy Daniels Says Donald Trump Has ‘COMPLETELY DESTROYED’ Her Career.”

So how did this happen? Has Trump banned Stormy from the airwaves? No. Did Trump minions superglue her clothing to her body? No. Did Trump order Homeland Security to prevent her from ‘dancing’ beside poles in dimly lit booty barns? No again.

It seems that after she violated a nondisclosure agreement with Trump — that she signed in 2006 and which paid her tens of thousands of dollars — the resulting publicity avalanche, also initiated by her and her creepy porn lawyer, Michael Avenasty, has given her writer’s block.

This Hemingway of the Harem, according to Newsweek, says, “The political [chaos] of the last ten months left her with no capacity to write movies — her favorite part of working in porn.” Presumably as she desperately attempts to come up with plot lines and action sequences Stormy will continue her “unofficial break” from writing and directing.

This column is certainly no expert on with the production end of the pubic performance industry so we can’t say the creative vacuum left by Stormy’s absence will be as crippling as say Stephen Spielberg leaving Hollywood. But we’re thinking, no.

Daniels' Trump-blaming session came during her appearance at the UK’s Oxford Union. The appearance was titled: “Sex, Guns and Other Fluff: How Porn Can Set You Free,” an event which probably merits a column of its own under the heading of ‘Cultural Decline.’

The entire appearance was obviously ludicrous, but Stormy was frequently unintentionally funny. For example, one of the activities she will miss most about her duties as a porn producer is “pick[ing] out the wardrobe.”

Stormy has made her bed, so to speak, and it’s difficult to generate any empathy for someone who picks a fight with the president and then complains about the result, imagined or otherwise. What is amazing to us is how the Opposition Media fails to understand its wall-to-wall coverage of Daniels complaining about an alleged sexual encounter with a private citizen 12 years ago cheapens the profession of journalism.

We just can’t get the old cliché “When you lie down with dogs…” out of our mind.
