The left is all about "the children" until the child’s welfare conflicts with their sexual ideology. Then it becomes "what kids"?

That’s the situation children desperately looking for a family are facing in Philadelphia. In March, the Daily Signal writes, “the city put out an urgent call for 300 families to provide foster care to help care for the flood of children coming into the system due to the opioid crisis.”

And flood it is. In 2016 Philly had the second-highest number of deaths from drug overdoses in the nation’s counties with over 1 million residents. In 2015 over 8,000 children in foster care statewide in Pennsylvania were there because of their parent’s drug use.

Catholic Social Services and Bethany Christian Services were ready to answer the emergency call. The two agencies’ track record proves both organizations were up to the task. In 2017 Catholic Services placed 226 children in foster homes and Bethany placed 170.

But that wasn’t good enough for the political commissars in Philadelphia’s City Hall. Both Christian groups were told that regardless of how many children were desperate for foster care, the gods of ideology must be appeased first. If kids were sacrificed as a result, that was just too bad.

Ideologues masquerading as bureaucrats intended to investigate if Catholic and Bethany were “discriminating” on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. The investigation lets professional moral exhibitionists look concerned on TV while the children suffer in silence.

It’s going to be a short investigation, although I’m sure the ACLU types will draw it out as long as possible for fundraising purposes. Because Catholic and Bethany are Christian and base their operating principles on the Bible, they won’t place children with homosexual couples or men who think they are women.

Just as few Hindu restaurants serve beef and Islamic establishments don’t have guard dogs, orthodox Christian groups follow the Bible when it comes to marriage. Not that their belief limits homosexual couples. As the Daily Signal explains, “By the left’s own admission, not a single state prohibits same-sex couples from adopting or fostering. And not a single LGBT person who wants to adopt lacks an agency with which to work. Philadelphia, in fact, actively recruits LGBT people as foster parents.”

Fostering for homosexuals isn’t the real goal. The goal is to force Christians to alter their bedrock beliefs and toe the line on the left’s sexual preferences.

It’s no longer good enough to "tolerate." Now Christians must adopt, no pun intended, while the children remain an afterthought.
