It was once said that domestic USA politics stopped at the water’s edge. That meant politicians of either party didn’t allow domestic concerns to interfere with the president’s foreign policy. That was an ideal that was mostly used to prevent Republican criticism of a Democrat’s policy.

Even that imposed consensus fell apart during the Vietnam War. Now both parties light into each other’s foreign policy initiatives and the left even works with America’s enemies if it means undermining the policy of a hated GOP president.

There is, however, one domestic issue for Democrats that stops dead at the water’s edge as long as the water is the eastern Mediterranean Sea.

The Jerusalem Post informs us that alphabet crusaders are evidently on their own in Arab lands. “The Palestinian Authority banned members of the Palestinian Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community from carrying out any activities in the West Bank.”

You may recall that two members of ‘The Squad,’ the four anti-Semitic members of Congress, were intending to tour Israel. Their goal was to embarrass the world’s only Jewish state and the only real democracy in the Middle East by showing Americans the “cruel reality of the occupation.”

Israel initially allowed then denied visas to Rep. Ilhan Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib. Then relented again and agreed to allow Tlaib to visit her 90-year-old grandmother on the West Bank. Grandma must not have been much of a conversationalist because Tlaib turned down the offer.

Naturally this resulted in an avalanche of Democrat criticism of Israel. What’s strange is there is an obvious current example of oppression on the West Bank, involving one of the left’s protected groups, and there’s total silence from Omar, Tlaib, and the rest of the leftist mob.

And it’s not the banning of a single ‘pride’ parade, the PA intends to root out and destroy the organization. “Explaining the decision to ban the LGBTQ group from operating in PA-controlled areas, Luay Zreikat, spokesperson for the PA Police, said that such activities are ‘harmful to the higher values and ideals of Palestinian society.’

“The PA police will chase those behind the LGBTQ group and see to it that they are brought to trial once they are arrested, Zreikat warned. He further appealed to Palestinians to report to the police about any person connected to the group.”

Trials. Arrests. Informants. Group guilt. Any one of those elements in Israel would result in a rush to get in front of a microphone to attack the Jewish state. But in the PA this sweeping dragnet (no pun intended) is too minor to merit a comment.

What’s really ironic and funny is the fact the alphabet crusading group only has two offices. One in Haifa, the other in Jerusalem. Both within the border of the “cruel occupier” Israel.
