Poll Joins Left Media, Goes Soft on China's Pandemic Role

The Center for Public Integrity/Ipsos recently released a poll that joins a long list of establishment media and academic institutions volunteering to help the communist government of China conceal its role in the Wufluenza.

The release accompanying the poll results announces, "that while the majority of Americans say the Coronavirus pandemic is a natural disaster, about 3 in 10 Americans blame China or Chinese people for the pandemic."

That breathtakingly dishonest characterization of their own poll is a subtle method of trying to imply assigning responsibility for the Kung flu to China is "racist."

First of all, 10 out of 10 Americans should be assigning blame to the government of China.

When a virus appears in a country and the government there lies about the seriousness of the disease and how it's transmitted, then that nation owns all the responsibility and blame for the disease whose deadliness that government’s actions only served to amplify.

It’s not "racist" to point out that fact.

It is aiding and abetting our communist enemy to mischaracterize people who do hold China responsible.

That’s where the "Chinese people" portion of the quote above comes into play.

The agenda-driven Ipsos combines the answers to two different questions to come up with their implied smear.

The initial blame assigning question asks, "Which comes closest to your opinion about the COVID-19/Coronavirus pandemic? The coronavirus pandemic is a natural disaster  or specific people or organizations are responsible for the coronavirus pandemic."

People who answered that specific people or organizations were responsible got a follow-up question, "Who do you think is responsible for the COVID-19/Coronavirus pandemic?"

This was what survey researchers term an open-ended question where respondents supply their own answers.

Answers given included:

—China General

—Chinese lab/scientists

—Chinese government

—General government

—Animal/wet market

—Insufficient health practices/carelessness

—Viral Warfare

—President Donald Trump

—WHO

—U.S. government

—Republicans

—Democrats

—CDC

And that’s it.

Do you see "Chinese people"in general anywhere on that list? Of course not. There is no generalized indictment of the Chinese. The only mentions are specific types of Chinese and not a specious racial classification.

Aside from out-and-out lying — or a desire to do some polls for the Chinese communists in the future — the only way to get criticism of the Chinese as a people is to take the results from another question and combine it with the first question.

That was the final question on the report and the wording is so fuzzy the answers are meaningless. Here survey respondents were asked, "In the past month, have you witnessed someone blaming Asian people for the coronavirus epidemic?"

There, 32% claimed to have witnessed someone blaming Asians for the flu.

The real question regarding this poll is not the distorted report on the results. The real question should be what does Ipsos hope to gain from helping the Chinese communists continue to conceal their responsibility for inflicting the global pandemic on the world?
