On Swalwell, Democrats Forget Appearances and Decency

If you need additional proof that honor, integrity, and even respect for appearances are dead in Washington, D.C. look no farther than what could be termed "Saga of Cong."

Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., is a publicity-hungry camera chaser who started out as an obscure city councilman in California.

At about that time, Swalwell was targeted for a Chinese honey-trap espionage operation.

A comely Chinese communist spy, whose trade name in the U.S. was Christine Fang, knew a likely mark when she saw one.

She began to keep, shall we say, very close company with the attention-hungry politician.

Fang even went to political functions with him and bundled campaign contributions for Swalwell’s successful congressional race.

Swalwell was completely oblivious.

He’s a common type of politician who combines conceit, ego, and room temperature intelligence.

Swalwell probably thought Fang was lucky to have landed a catch like himself.

Why he’d just run for president of the United States and he was a member of the House Intelligence Committee!

So, let’s clarify here.

This particular committee isn’t a MENSA for members of Congress.

It deals with information provided by our spy services.

Secret information.

Swalwell practically became an unpaid member of the more foaming-at-the-mouth cable outlets and used is committee seat to repeatedly accuse President Trump of being a Russian asset.

(Karma can be tough.)

While Swalwell was feeding his ego on the campaign trail, Fang was busy planting an intern — thought to be another spy — in Swalwell’s D.C. congressional office.

Fang had Swalwell covered coming and going.

Her intelligence operation came to an end when the FBI had a meeting with the seemingly clueless congressman to warn him.

This is another instance of the institutional corruption of the FBI. When a Chinese spy was discovered on the staff of Sen. Diane Feinstein, D-Calif., — he had only been there undetected by the crack agents for two decades — the "special agents" had a private meeting with Feinstein to warn her.

When the FBI discovered Fang chewing over congressional intelligence briefings, the FBI also had a private meeting with Swalwell to warn him.

But when the FBI had rumors of Russian intelligence supposedly trying to penetrate the Trump campaign, the FBI didn’t say a word to Trump. Instead it started investigating him.

That is the corrupt Deep State at its worst.

Meanwhile, back in Congress, Swalwell takes the Biden approach to his Chinese honey-trap scandal and refuses to answer questions claiming his dating behavior is "classified."

If Swalwell had an ounce of integrity or honor, he would see what the rest of the nation already knows. He is hopelessly compromised as member of the House Intelligence committee and at the very least he should resign his committee seat.

The most honorable step would be to resign from Congress entirely.

There is as much chance of that happening as there is of Peter Strzok turning state’s evidence against the rest of the Russia conspiracy hoax plotters.

What’s equally astounding is Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., sees nothing wrong with Swalwell continuing to serve on the committee!

She has refused to remove him.

Former House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy was as amazed as we are when he spoke with Fox News, "There are 230 [House] Democrats, and you mean to tell me [Pelosi] cannot find a single one that didn't date a Chinese spy?"

Gowdy also pointed out the irony in Swalwell’s tainted career, "He berated Jared Kushner and Donald Trump Jr. for meeting with a Russian lawyer --- not dating one, meeting with one. And then he berates Devin Nunes for a phone call with Lev Parnas, and he calls the president an agent of Russia."

Yet Swallwell retains his access to top secret information because Democrats in power have no respect for appearances or even common decency.
