The left and its deep–pocket donors have been using the legal system to undermine the rule of law in the USA for years. First, it was through frivolous lawsuits before leftist judges that tied governmental bodies up in court and thwarted the enforcement of laws the left didn’t like.
Then, it became much more blatant when Soros District Attorneys were elected and the DAs unilaterally decided that Rule of Law would be replaced by Rule of Whim as these leftist DAs simply refused to enforce law with which they disagreed.
Legislators in South Carolina decided to fight back. Fox News tells us the state has not been able to execute a murderer for the last decade. These monsters are alive on death row while their victims molder in their respective graves and the families wait for long–delayed justice.
The delay in South Carolina and many other states was caused by a shortage of lethal injection drugs. Instead of just buying a dime bag of Chinese fentanyl off the street and carrying out the sentence, South Carolina was stymied by leftist lawsuits that pressured manufacturers to stop supplying oh–so–scientific execution drugs to prison systems.
That dodge is now over in South Carolina. "The state House voted 66-43 Wednesday on legislation that would allow death row inmates to choose between being shot or electrocuted if lethal injection drugs aren't available. The state is one of nine that still use the electric chair and will become the fourth to use firing squads."
The key word here is "choose." Murderers can no longer specify a lethal injection session that will never come to pass because the drugs aren’t available. It’s now the bullet or the chair.
The senate version of the bill was approved in March. Gov. Henry McMaster has promised to sign it. "We are one step closer to providing victims’ families and loved ones with the justice and closure they are owed by law. I will sign this legislation as soon as it gets to my desk."
Fox ran the numbers and found, "Three inmates, all in Utah, have been killed by firing squad since the U.S. reinstated the death penalty in 1977. Nineteen inmates have died in the electric chair this century."
Currently, 37 prisoners are waiting on death row and three of them are out of appeals.
Leftists whine about the "injustice" of the death penalty, but that simply isn’t true. The real injustice is when democratically–approved laws and punishments are thwarted by outsiders who think they know better than the people.
