There is a slight correlation between the presidential campaigns of William McKinley in 1896 and Joe Biden in 2020. Both candidate’s campaign was greatly affected by disease and both candidates stayed home because of it.

McKinley ran his famous "front porch" campaign for the presidency from is home in Canton, Ohio.

It wasn’t because he was sick.

It was because his wife, Ida, was seriously ill and he didn’t want to leave her home alone.

Jay Serafino explains that McKinley and his campaign orchestrated a series of events where the mountain came to Mohammed. Interest groups and crowds of supporters were organized and came to McKinley’s home.

"From August through November 1896, approximately 750,000 people shuffled through McKinley's [home]. He gave speeches outside at all hours of the day, except for Sunday. Scores of trains arrived, full of people ready to not only meet the future president, but pledge their support and spread the word once they returned home."

It worked. McKinley won.

Joe Biden’s campaign is also dominated by a health question.

The difference is Biden is not conducting a basement campaign because his wife is ill.

Biden is in the basement because he is frail. The Biden campaign uses the "Wuflu" as the excuse to keep him in his own personal Gitmo while President Trump barnstorms the country.

The Biden campaign appears to be successful because he’s leading in the polls.

Most observers assumed Biden would have to leave the cozy confines of his basement as the election drew nearer and campaign more energetically, if for no other reason than to protect his lead.

Most observers were wrong.

Fox News explains, "The November election is just about one week away, but Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has no campaign events scheduled on Monday."

Let’s state a relevant fact right now.

The Reagan half of this writing partnership knows a great deal about conducting a modern presidential campaign. Keeping your candidate locked in the basement — or chasing squirrels in the backyard — when the election is only eight days away is astonishing.

Is there something terribly wrong with Joe Biden’s health?

It takes three days of preparation to get him through an hour and a half debate.

Now he’s pulled the plug on activity this near the vote.

Compare the Biden schedule with Trump’s. The same day Biden is in the basement, "The president will kick off the day with remarks on the American workers at a rally in Allentown. From there, Trump will head to Lititz --- population 9,369 --- for his second rally of the day …Trump will conclude the spree of rallies in Martinsburg, about two hours west of Harrisburg."

The contrast is shocking.

The opposition media has been badgering President Trump about his health for months.

Since he came down with the "Flumanchu" and successfully beat the China plague the op media health scrutiny has been even more intense.

Yet no one is asking Joe Biden about his seemingly frail health and mental capacity.

It’s high time the media demanded the same answers from the Biden campaign that they want from the Trump campaign. After the election is way too late.
