If You Love Your Children, Take Back Your School Board

We have long advocated that parents who love their children should get them out of government schools and either homeschool or send their children to private church schools.

Leaving your children in a school system controlled by leftists means, in most instances, that your children will become leftists.

We also realize that not all parents have the career flexibility, nor do they have the money to take their children out of government schools regardless of how much they love them.

Now those parents have a viable government school option: Move to Oklahoma.

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt recently signed House Bill 1775 into law. Fox News reports, “In part, the bill states that ‘no teacher shall require or make part of a course that one race or sex is inherently superior to another race or sex.’ Though the bill does not name "critical race theory," it does list several concepts that cannot be made part of a course by school employees, such as the belief ‘an individual, by virtue of his or her race or sex, bears responsibility for actions committed in the past by other members of the same race or sex.’"

In a single stroke Gov. Stitt put a stop to the collective guilt leftists want to impose on light–complexioned children and at the same time took the target off their backs. Holding up a segment of the classroom as guilty for something that took place decades ago is simply evil and educrats who promote that are child abusers.

We believe the Jim Crow regime Southern Democrats imposed on blacks was wrong, but replacing it with a Jake Crow regime that targets whites is equally wrong.

That’s why politicians finally waking up to this insanity— after decades in the cave with Rip Van Winkle — is so important. “The bill also prevents educators from teaching students that ‘any individual should feel discomfort, guilt, anguish or any other form of psychological distress on account of his or her race or sex,’ or that ‘meritocracy or traits such as a hard work ethic are racist or sexist or were created by members of a particular race to oppress members of another race.’”

The goal of Critical Race Theory fanatics is simply the destruction of Western Culture. What type of culture — other than anarchy — that will replace it is unknown. But whatever the replacement is, they plan to be in charge.

This courageous act on the part of Oklahoma will make that harder there.

This does not mean the state intends to whitewash (is that racist?) its history. On the contrary, Gov. Stitt explains, “[the bill] clearly endorses teaching to the Oklahoma academic standards, which were written by Oklahoma educators and include events like the Oklahoma City Bombing, the Tulsa Race Massacre, the emergence of Black Wall Street, Oklahoma City lunch counter sit-ins led by Clara Luper and the Trail of Tears.”

But at the same time, “We must keep teaching history and all of its complexities and encourage honest and tough conversations about our past. Nothing in this bill prevents or discourages those conversations,” Stitt said. “We can and should teach this history without labeling a young child as an oppressor or requiring that he or she feel guilt or shame based on their race or sex. I refuse to tolerate otherwise.”

Oklahoma’s work is not done.

The reaction to the bill was swift. “The eight-member Oklahoma City Public Schools Board of Education on Monday unanimously denounced a new law signed by Gov. Kevin Stitt that implicitly bans the teachings of critical race theory from being included in the state's public school curriculum. Board member Ruth Veales, who is Black and Native American, argued the legislation was attempting to quiet discussions regarding race ‘in order to protect White fragility.’"

In the view of the school board there is something wrong with white parents not volunteering their children to be ideological, and sometimes literal, punching bags.

It’s obvious the OKC school board will be doing its best to undermine and circumvent the new law. And that’s why parents should do their best to replace the entire school board with a conservative board not ruled by fanatics.

That’s what happened in North Texas recently. During the school board election the wild–eyed leftists were defeated by a coalition of concerned parents who didn’t want CRT in their schools. You can do the same in your school board elections.

Recruit strong candidates who have the spine to stand up to a hostile media and a school administration that thinks it is in charge. Make sure the candidates support a curriculum that produces well–educated students who respect their state and their country. And then work, work, work to get those candidates elected.

It’s a worthy goal. It’s a goal within reach. It’s a goal that will show your love for your children and your country. You may not be able to take your children out of government schools, but you can take the indoctrination out.
