Beit Shemesh — Israel365 and Bridges for Peace joined forces to provide emergency relief for the families of Mevo Modiim who lost their homes and possessions in the devastating fire.

Rabbi Tuly Weisz of Israel365 reached out to Reverend Rebecca Brimmer of Bridges for Peace and they agreed to do everything they could to assist the families. In the next few days, they will be providing laptop computers for all the families so they can start rebuilding their lives and sponsoring a shopping spree at the Azriella Mall in Modiim so the families can purchase new clothing.

“These precious families lost everything, we don’t know what they need, but they know what they need” said Weisz.

Israel365 and Bridges for Peace partnered previously in December 2016 in response to devastating fires in Haifa. The two organizations worked with a local shopping mall and invited families to purchase new items that they needed.

According to Brimmer, Evangelicals from all over the world are eager to assist. “I am one Christian woman,” she said. “But I represent thousands of Christians all around the world who care enough about Israel to reach into their pockets. This answers a physical need but it comes from a very deep place in our souls.”

“It's very special that an Orthodox rabbi and an Evangelical minister set aside our differences and work together without any questions asked when Israel needs us,” said Weisz. “Becky and I found shared inspiration in the words of the prophet Isaiah, ‘When you walk through fire, You shall not be scorched; Through flame, It shall not burn you.’ We believe that God provided a great miracle in saving many lives at the Moshav and it's an honor for us Jews and Christians to come together and assist the precious families whose lives were saved.”

Rabbi Tuly Weisz is the director of Israel365, which connects 2 million people to Israel every month. He founded the I365 newsletter, is publisher of Breaking Israel News, and editor of The Israel Bible. He lives with his family in Ramat Beit Shemesh. To read more of his reports, Click Here Now.
