The final poll shows:
48% – Gore
46% – Bush
5% – Nader
.5% – Buchanan
Pollster John Zogby reports:
"In the course of two months, the lead has changed several times. What we can say for certain is that this is too close to call in both the popular vote and in several battleground states. If Gore holds California he can win with victories in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Florida and Washington. A victory in either Wisconsin or Missouri would be icing on the cake. Without California, he cannot win. For Bush, leads in Ohio and Tennessee must be pieced together with wins in Missouri, either Pennsylvania or Florida, and several smaller states such as New Hampshire, Arkansas and West Virginia. Look for reports on African-American and urban turnout as keys to either a Gore victory or defeat. Nader's presence has already been felt in the closeness of this race down to the wire."
